Salary minimums for highly-skilled foreign employees and executives, and EU Blue Card holders are set to increase throughout Belgium, beginning January 1, 2018.

The 2018 gross salary minimums for B work permit holders have increased to €40,972 p.a. for highly-skilled employees, €68,356 p.a. for executive-level employees, and €52,978 p.a. for EU Blue Card Holders. The projected increase is roughly 2.1% higher than minimum salary levels set for 2017.

Only guaranteed earnings can be taken into consideration to apply towards the salary minimums. Discretionary bonuses and allowances will not apply towards the minimum, though some special considerations may be taken into account.
