Zika Virus Outbreak

There have been reports in the last week that the Zika virus has at least 2 confirmed cases within Australian borders. The NSW Health department has confirmed that passengers coming back from the Caribbean have tested positive from the virus. Read Full Article
Compulsory checks by landlords on the immigration status of new tenants are to be introduced across the country from 1 February 2016. The Immigration Act 2014 has been revised and regulations will come into effect requiring Landlords conduct mandatory checks to establish that new tenants have the right to rent in the UK. The amount of the SMIC (French minimum wage) was revaluated on January 1, 2016. The gross hourly rate is now 9.67 euros, and the gross monthly income is 1,466.62 euros on a base of 35 hours weekly. This revaluation also impacts the minimum wage of the contributors working under the status of employee on a mission – whose minimum wage is now 2,199.93 euros gross (1.5 times the minimum month rate).
