AFP REFUNDINGS – TRANSFER OF FUNDS ABROAD
When moving back to their country, foreigners who have been members of the Peruvians Private Pension System may apply to transfer the funds accumulated to their individual capitalization account pensions system abroad.
IMMIGRANT RETURNING TAX – TAX EXONERATION
Based on law N° 30525, Peruvian who lived abroad for a minimum of 3 years may be exempt from the payment of import duties for their goods and capital when returning to Peru.
DRIVING IN PERU
Foreigners with a Tourist Visa can drive with their foreign license for a maximum of 6 months. Once they get their Peruvian Resident Card, they have to get the local Driving License.
A Driving license exchange can be requested for Spanish citizens. Other foreign residents have to take the local driving test. There are 3 parts: a medical exam, a theory test and the driving test. OPENING A BANK ACCOUNT IN PERU
Most Peruvian Banks will request the foreigner to have a Resident card in order to open a Bank account in Peru.
