On January 29th, the Superintendence Resolution No. 0036-2019-MIGRACIONES was published in the Official Gazette "El Peruano", establishing the following:

The   Certificates of Criminal, Police and Judicial Background - required for the Change of Immigration Status process under the scopes of the MERCOSUR Agreement - will be verified and validated online, through the PIDE (Platform for Interoperability of the Peruvian State).

This provision became effective as of January 31, 2019, and will apply to all files that commence as of that date.

The presentation of one of the Criminal, Judicial or Police Background Records of the country of origin with the corresponding legalization or apostille, continues to be an essential requirement for the process.
